María Cecilia Meroño trained as a National Professor of Drawing and Painting. He studied at the María Medici School of Contemporary Jewelery and later specialized in the History of Art and Jewelery.
She teaches Art and Jewelry courses at the José Hernández Museum and privately.
She is part of the La Ronda Contemporary Jewelry collective.

I live in San Antonio de Areco. I was trained at the National School of Fine Arts and I am self-taught in the craft of Craftsman. I work with pieces of steel, silver, wood, acrylic for their purity and style.
Being an Artisan represents, above all, a choice: it means respect for the trade itself, its history, what it points to as a social and cultural fact. Thus, any handmade object, the smallest, whatever the discipline, has all these qualities for me.
I value metals for their great expressive capacity and durability, since the passage of time and use also tend to give them a particular personality.

At the Puro Diseño Fair 2015 She launched Indómita Luz, the contemporary jewelery firm made with cocoons of silkworms.
The particularity of the cocoons is their brightness, lightness and the fixation of natural colors, it seems fragile but it is not!
The colors are achieved with natural dyes and colorants obtained from yerba mate, onion peel, cochineal, achiote seed, indigo, saffron, among others. Obtaining own tones, whose process is carried out in his own workshop in Claromecó, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Pottery is communication, and that is why this is my profession. In my pots the history of its creation is visible. The grooves left by the fingers on the walls tell that they were made on a potter's wheel. If there are stamped traces it is because I enamel by immersion, and if the enamel drips - it always drips - so it remains.
I develop my own glazes from natural materials, mostly red clays like the soil where I find them. An electric oven brings the pieces to 1270 * C, turns the clay into stone, and delivers an ideal quality object to be used on a daily basis.

Argentina, visual artist. I studied Fine Arts, Animation Film, sculpture in different workshops, and contemporary jewelry with Jorge Castañon and Jorge Manilla. I have some awards and mentions in cinema and in contemporary jewelry, in Argentina, and abroad. I made several collective exhibitions of contemporary jewelry in museums and galleries in Argentina and abroad.
My little jewels are in different galleries, museum shops and private collections around the world. I call them toy jewels… portable poetry… portable sculptures… jewels denounce… jewels that say…
The toy jewels are playful, they have movement ... there are the toy horses, the cyclists, the friends ... they have wheels, or move their legs, or look at each other, sometimes they hug, or sail in boats, alone or accompanied, in love ships .
I have series that talk about the feminine and sorority. They started from me, from my body, moving and modeling in wax. Transiting emotional states, sensations, finding liberating gestures, thus are born the dancers, the women of the land, the pachamamas, the machis (magicians and wise women), the liquid women (who travel emotions and creativity), those who fly (pure poetry) , those of fire (centaurs that fight), those that run, we are always empowered ...
At this moment I am saying the things that happen in the streets, repressions, demonstrations, people who live on the street and social struggles in my country.
The people who wear my pieces also have a concept, they identify themselves, they are jewelery, amulets, jewels that protect, special jewels that do good, connect us with tenderness, play and poetry…. that's why I say so ... portable poetry.
